Faucet InstructionsFor the Do-It-Yourselfer

My Kitchen Faucet Spout is Difficult to Turn

When a Kitchen faucet spout is difficult to turn or swivel, you need to remove the entire spout from the faucet. In most cases, you can grasp the faucet spout at its base by hand, and then turn it counterclockwise. Lift the spout straight up off the kitchen faucet’s body. Replace the O-ring gaskets on the spout or the faucet body. Pry them off with a small flat tip screwdriver and roll them off the faucet or spout. Apply a thin coat of plumber’s silicon grease to the new O-rings, and then roll them back into the exact location of the old ones. Grease the inside of the kitchen faucet spout before reinstalling the spout.
